Short Track is a family comedy/drama set the world of the
NASCAR-style Local Sportsman Stock Car Racing Series. The
hard work, dedication and
humor of the Beckett Race Team and family are exposed
through a cast of unique characters as they work and play
through weeks which culminate in 120
mph Saturday nights.
BLAKE: Male. Early to middle 40s, family man and race driver.
More Southern gentleman, than redneck. Smart and quick
country boy. Comic delivery
important.
AUDREY: Female. Early 40s, active homemaker and mother. A
Beethoven and Budweiser kind of woman who heals a heart with
the same steady hand
that guides her children and keeps her marriage on steady
ground. Comedic strength necessary.
ABBY: Female. 19-year-old oldest child and contemporary
country music-singing diva of the family. Sexy, but fairly innocent.
BRODY: Male. 16-year-old deaf go-karting champ, moving up to
stock car racing. Very good comic timimg. Character signs. Any
knowledge or
experience with sign language a big plus.
CHEVY: Female. Tomboy and the family's youngest at "five and
seven-sixteenths-years-old", Chevy is already headed to Victory
Lane in her wicker
laundrey basket race car, mixing bowl helmet and Frisbee
steering wheel. No little beauty queen here.
POPS: Male. Mid-60s, southern quickwit and storyteller, is both
granddaddy to the children and racing royalty to the guys in the
shop.
INDY JOHANSEN: Male. Early 20s and LA born and bred.
Determined and charming aspiring stock car driver. Were it not
for his love of racing, he'd
probably be a surfer-type. Named for his father's love of Indy
racing. Takes his sprint car trophies as well as his business
and marketing savvy to NC to
start his career. Falls for Blake's daughter, Abby.
REVEREND JERVIS: Male. 50s. African-American, warm and
gentle community leader, minister and good friend to the
Becketts.
DILL CROTTI: Male - 30s to 50s character type. All around nice
guy and Hickory Speedway Promoter. Dill makes a good Santa
for a holiday visit to the
Becketts.
WAYNE: Male. 30s. Crew chief of Beckett Race Team. A
grease-under-fingernails racing bachelor. A Skynard tee and
ill-fitting jeaned under-educated,
but smart head wrench. Maybe a tat or too, but too conservative
at heart to get pierced.
COTTON: Male. Early 20s. Blond and cute, tech-school
mechanic's apprentice. Dedicated race team member and
Blake's nephew.
TERRY RICHARDSON: Male. Mid-thirties. Tight, quick and sharp
degreed engineer with racing in his blood. A race driver who's
forced to make the
decision to turn in the firesuit for the necktie.
KIM RICHARDSON: Female. Terry's ex-cheerleader wife. Cute,
syrupy-sweet and real Southern Belle.
PUFFY: Male. 5-year-old. Terry and Kim's over-active spitfire of a
little boy. Southern and a little puffy would be good.
ALEX: Male. African-American. Exhuberant and driven leader.
Ex-college running back, school teacher who joins the Beckett
Race Team as Pit Crew
Coach and Front Tire Changer.

Traci Townsend has never had a problem attracting men.
Keeping them is another story.
After deciding not to give up on love, Traci falls for her current
beau only to be rejected again. To be beautiful, successful, and
not have one wedding
proposal to her credit brings Traci to the lowest point in her life.
She will not die an old maid with no kids. Traci confides in her
best friend Sylvia, a
production assistant, that she needs some answers. She
convinces Sylvia to tape her conducting interviews of her three
previous boyfriends under the guise
that they are filming a documentary on relationships. Traci's
ultimate motive is to find out why they never proposed. Each
distinctly different interview,
comically teaches Traci more about herself than she would care
to know.
Sometimes you have to stop searching for love and let it find you.
TRACI TOWNSEND: Late 20s to early 30s, African American
female. Confident, successful, and beautiful, with an attitude.
She's never had a problem
attracting men. Keeping them is another story. Her attitude is
broken down piece by piece with each interview, until she hits
rock bottom. Must be fit and in

Traci's best friend. She
has a new age/spiritual personality that sometimes drives Traci

romantic gentleman, who will

are looking for people who have experienced the turmoil of an affair. Each
episode of ?Diary of an Affair? chronicles the non-fiction story of an
affair with the participants openly sharing how the affair affected them,
their significant other, their friends and families, with an eye to
helping others who are dealing with similar circumstances.
This documentary style series will tell your story in a tasteful and
mature way by an Emmy-winning production company. The show chronicles the
affair itself - how it started, who was involved, the dramatic twists and
turns, how it ended, and what happened to the parties' existing
relationships.
