Alechinsky Pierre, pittore e incisore belga (Bruxelles 1927). Nel
1949 costituì il gruppo Cobra. Sue opere sono nei maggiori musei d'Europa.
Attratto dalla pittura, Pierre Alechinsky si iscrive all'età di diciassette anni
presso l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architettura e Arti Decorative di la
Cambre di Bruxelles. Ha aderito al movimento artistico Cobra con Karel Appel e
Asger Jorn e con loro organizza mostre. Nei primi anni 1950, ha imparato l'arte
dell'incisione con Stanley William Hayter e si interessa alla calligrafia giapponese. Ha
incontrato Giacometti, Bram Van Velde e Victor Brauner. Nel 1955, ha firmato la
sua prima mostra al Palais des Beaux-Arts di Bruxelles, poi presso l'Istituto di
Arte Contemporanea di Londra.
Realizza dipinti, stampe, litografie, incisioni e illustrazioni di libri,
che circolano negli Stati Uniti, nella Francia, in Olanda, in Danimarca ed in
Germania. Dal 1965, affascinato dalla calligrafia orientale, realizza opere in
cui usa vernice acrilica, inchiostro, diversi tipi di carta, anche non
usuali come fatture, in questo influenzato dalla tecnica della action painting .
Nel 1980, è diventato professore per quattro anni di arti plastiche presso l'Ecole
Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. Pierre Alechinsky ha inoltre
pubblicato numerosi libri.

Alechinsky Pierre, painter and Belgian engraver (Brussels 1927). In 1949

Attracted by painting, Pierre Alechinsky enrolled at the age of seventeen at the
Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture and Decorative Arts de la Cambre in
Brussels. He subscribed to the artistic movement Cobra with Karel Appel and
Asger Jorn and organizes exhibitions. In the early 1950's, he learned the art of
printmaking with Stanley William Hayter and Japanese calligraphy. He met
Giacometti, Bram Van Velde and Victor Brauner. In 1955, he signed his first
exhibition at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, then at the Institute of
Contemporary Arts in London. Her paintings, prints, lithographs, engravings and
illustrations of books, circulating in the United States, France, Holland,
Denmark and Germany. From 1965, fascinated by Eastern calligraphy, he uses
acrylic paint, ink, different types of paper such as invoices, and can be
influenced by the technique of action painting. In the 1980's, he became a
professor, for four years, of arts plastisques at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure
des Beaux Arts. Also a writer, Pierre Alechinsky published numerous books. |
